Video Interview Tips – Posture & Tone of Voice

Here at Sky Jellyfish Video we have talked before that if your video marketing is perceived well, you’ll be received well, there’s more to that, read on.

How you sit or stand in your video production, your posture, and your tone of voice also affects how people perceive you and your video. We want to appeal to your target audience, and avoid pulling focus from the message of your video. That means to learn what you’re going to say so you don’t stammer or um and ah, have a straight posture that projects confidence and comfort, and speak clearly and loud but not too loud.

Think about how you would sound and look if you were successful and confident, and act like that person would. Or if you are already, skip to the next blog entry.

There’s only so far you can get with this, and if you sound like a dick people aren’t going to want to know you, so don’t go overboard. Consider your target audience, and the tone of the video – fun, serious, authoritative? And again, practice – if you know what you’re going to say, you’ll be more confident saying it.

For training videos – your Posture & Tone of Voice and  what you have to say, will educate your viewers more. For real estate videos and marketing videos, people will believe what you’re selling that much more, and the sale will be more effective. For corporate videos, you will better represent your company. In all cases, working to maximize how you come across in your video production is essential to making the most of your time with your video production company, and making the most of your video.

That’s something to consider for your next interview.
